Hardware Requirements
As a design student, you need to be equipped with reliable analog as well as digital tools that can serve you throughout your 4-year academic career and in most cases even more. One of those essential tools that you’re going to make heavy use of is your Laptop.
Below are the minimum requirements for a laptop to conduct your work reliably without having technical difficulties and lags along the way.
- Screen size: min 13” preferable 15″
- Operating System: Windows or Mac OS
- Processor: Core i7 or Higher
- RAM: 16GB or higher
- Hard Drive: 500 GB SSD or higher
- Graphics card: 2GB dedicated graphics card or higher
Software Requirements
- Adobe (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Rhino (License here will be account-based. When creating an account for the software, use your didi.ac.ae email account. Please refer to the “Welcome to DIDI” Email sent to your didi.ac.ae email address by Almond for further instructions.)
- KeyShot (License here will be in the University Server. You need to connect your PC to the DIDI network to acquire the license. Please refer to the “Welcome to DIDI” Email sent to your didi.ac.ae email address by Almond for further instructions.)
- AutoDesk – Create an Account with AutoDesk
- Create an Education Account and AutoDesk will provide a free education license for you
- Use your didi.ac.ae email when creating an account
- MeshMixer (Free)
- Unity (Free)
